This team is predicted to be a big threat to Red Bull Racing in F1 2024

 Red Bull Racing Team Principal, Christian Horner, predicts that the team will be a big threat to Red Bull Racing in F1 2024. However, that team will not be Mercedes, let alone Ferrari.


The team is McLaren. The presence of Rob Marshall and Oscar Piastri, as valuable assets, will mean that McLaren is considered to be a competitor for Red Bull Racing in fighting for the title.

Red Bull Racing continues to show its dominance in three consecutive seasons. This can be seen from the success of Max Verstappen, who became world champion for three consecutive years.

Meanwhile in F1 2023, two Bull Racing drivers, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, occupy the top two positions in the final standings. Max Verstappen emerged as world champion after collecting 575 points and getting 19 wins and 21 podiums.

Meanwhile, Sergio Perez is in second place. He achieved 258 points and had two wins and nine podiums.

Even though they are dominating F1, Christian Horner thinks McLaren will be a threat in the title race. Because the manufacturer from Woking, England, has recruited Rob Marshall, who has worked for Red Bull Racing for 17 years.

“There are times when they (McLaren) are our closest competitors. They have strengthened their team and Rob (Marshall) will be an asset, but it's not just about one guy. "There are seven or 800 people in one F1 team and it takes the whole team to unite," said Christian Horner, quoted from GP Fans, Tuesday (2/1/2024).

Apart from Rob Marshall, Christian Horner considers Oscar Piastri to be one of the key factors for McLaren to be able to compete with Red Bull Racing. He also saw Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri stealing the show in F1 2024.

"With Lando (Norris) and Oscar (Piastri) who are very impressive as debutants, they can be an influential factor next year," he explained.

Oscar Piastri is one of the young racers with potential. Having been McLaren's reserve driver in F1 2022, he managed to prove his quality by finishing ninth in F1 2023 after collecting 97 points and getting two podiums.
